anybody got off the waitlist recently? i really really really wanna go to temple!!!

I got off of the temple waitlist on may 17th..but by that time I had already decided on going elsewhere so I withdrew my acceptance yesterday (may 24th)...so there should be one more spot open!

hey MED123, i have no idea when classes start for temple but i hope it starts around mid-august. ugh i really don't wanna have to fly last minute so i hope we'll both hear soon! do you know what their waitlist movement is like? it seems like not that many people are getting off the waitlist. i guess the probation hasn't really scared people coz i assumed there'd be a lot of waitlist movement this year.

Thanks for sharing. I really appreciate it. From the SDN, I know of another student just withdrew very recently. I don't know who are getting these spots. I guess only a few of us who are waiting on Temple are on the SDN. I wish I could hear more movements going on Temple waitlist.

Please Temple people, let us know any news you hear. For me and others who are desperately waiting, anything helps. No word from Temple is killing me.......i know i m not alone in this.

Nope sharsky, no word from Temple. Thanks for starting up this thread caz I did not see much talk on SDN either on Temple waitlist. But, with Deepti's withdrawal, there has to be two seats opening up (based alone from SDN). However, we don't hear who are getting these seats.....most likely because they are probably not SDN members.

Those of you who get in, please share with us. We want to know some activity. Thanks.

With you and Deepti 2 seats (from SDN alone) became available yesterday. I guess if I didn't hear by now, they probably gave the seats to others already. But, there is still time and I am hopeful. 🙂

I too e-mailed LOI about 3 weeks ago. No words whatsoever. So, I am thinking of keeping quiet, in case I aggravate the adcom. Besides, I don't know how much Temple likes extra papers. I read on SDN that some schools like extra LOI/LOR....but, not sure about Temple. So, perhaps someone else can help us on that about Temple. But I don't think it would hurt though.

I guess there is no activity with Temple waitlist movement today.......and I thought I would get one of the two seats that SDNers freed a couple of days ago... 😡 ....oh well....God knows where my name is on the CCL....losing hope. 🙁

Don't lose hope Temple peeps. . to my knowledge, they definitely have a lot of movement. Although they decreased the class size by about 20 this year, I think I remember reading that they took the majority of the waitlist people last year or the year before.

I guess I wasn't always so excited about Temple, because Pitt was sorta my "dream" school. But now I am glad to be going out there, because it really seems like the kind of place where they value the students. The acceptance letter even said that they are not only committing to your 4 years of education but also residency and even practice in the Temple system. It seems like there are so many opportunities to get involved. I was really impressed with the student-run clinic for the community, I think its called Temple CARES?. . . or maybe that's a different club, I'm not sure. But anyway, I think I am just real excited to get started and actually learn some medicine. It will be a cool new city (to me at least). . and I think it will be great to meet all of our new classmates there. Now I only hope we can do a good job 😉 😀

i just got a call from the admissions office at temple today offering me acceptance....*sigh* now the question remains...temple vs. drexel! arghhhhhh! i'm straddling the fence...any thoughts?

With pixye1, there were 4 acceptances off the CCL last week from SDN alone. I think the waitlist is definitely moving at Temple and I am hoping it will continue this week too 🙂 . So, please those of you get in from the CCL, let us know. How long do they give you to make up your mind? Is it one week?

Based on what I've learned, they call first and then send the e-mail. Has anyone been called other than at home phone? Just curious.

I am choosing Morehouse because I liked the area better than Temple and I also don't know what Temple is willing to give me and I wouldn't have known unless I said yes...so Morehouse here I come..unless Drew pulls through.
