sounds like everyone got it. I'm sure they want to know who is actually going to come to the school if they accept them so they can fill the class in the most efficient manner. If I were a school I would try to cut down on the "placeholder" acceptances too, and I think this is 1 more piece of the overall puzzle. "Are your stats good enough(can you actually succeed in D school)? Did you interview well (are you a down to earth person who can actually relate to patients)? Do you seriously want to attend (are they wasting an acceptance if they give one to you?) I think that's part of the thought process.
