I wanted to ask people that had been previously wait listed by Tennessee schools, how long did it take for you to hear back from the program about a spot opening up?

I was late in getting my final recommendation letter in and my observation hours verified, so by that time that was complete both programs filled all their spots and I was wait listed by both Belmont and UTC. How likely is it for a spot to open up, and for those that had been previously accepted off the wait list, when did you hear the news?

I have a 3.96 GPA and the 320 GRE so I should be towards the top of the list, but I'm just worried about a spot not opening up at all at this point. I still have an interview with UTHSC in Memphis, although I don't know how many spots they still have available.

Also has anyone interviewed at Memphis yet and have any info or tips about that?

waitlist candidates are notified pretty quick after spots open up. Usually if your school has a deadline to accept acceptance offers. Ive heard ppl get off wait list in march(deadline to accept admissions offers) and I've heard some ppl get notified a couple days before school starts(prob due to the fact some students didn't finish all pre req work)

I was waitlisted at UTC and Belmont. I was accepted, and sent a deposit in to UAB in early April. I told UTC to take my name off of the waiting list at this time. I kept my name on Belmont's wait list and was notified in mid May I was accepted there. I talked with my family and decided that UAB was the best option for me. So basically, I interviewed at Belmont in early DEC and didn't find out I was accepted until May. I emailed UTC to find out where I stood on the waitlist before I heard from UAB. They don't give out the exact spot, but they told me I was in the top 25% of the waitlisted people. Hope that helps. This was in 2012 by the way. I just started my 2nd year at UAB.

That does make me feel a lot better, thank you. I was initially worried that no more spots would open up. The waiting game is killing me, but if some spots were still opening up in May then that is a good sign!

I just received an email that UTC is finishing up reviewing academic updates for the fall and that they will be making substantial cuts to their waitlist in early March, and that typically they have a lot of movement from the waitlist in March through April. Fingers crossed!
