Hello all!

I posted this in psych as well, but I was wondering for all specialities, how long you intend on making your ROL? Would you also consider putting programs down that you really don't want to go to as back ups or would you prefer to scramble?

Just doing a census on things I guess - plus I'm curious 😛

10 programs for internal medicine. It's probably excessive, but it will help me sleep better in the three weeks between submitting and (hopefully) matching!

my tentative is too short.... :scared: :scared:

I will interview at 10 and will rank all 10 for EM.

5 Psych programs.

Currently thinking about ranking 10 for general surgery. Scrambling will probably be near-impossible (it was last year) so I don't want to do that. I'm hoping 10 is enough.

Only 5 inches. Oh wait! Did I say that out loud!?

I interviewed at 8 for path and will either rank all 8 or maybe 7.

I know which programs I liked a little less than the others, but absolutely cannot figure out the order of my top 4! :scared:

I bet mine is shorter than yours. For pathology, I interviewed at 5, will only rank 3 at most 😱 :scared:

Interviewing at 9 and gonna rank all 9 for PM&R. Had other interview offers that I turned down or cancelled if I felt the program wasn't a solid fit (I'm sure I'm not the only one who cancelled or turned down interviews after December).

Ranking 12 for Ophtho. I'll let you know how that works out for me in 12 days. :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck:

I'm pretty sure I got all you beat for Internal Med...

9 EM programs and I will rank them all.

If you are serious about a particular specialty to the exclusion of all others, you would be stupid not to rank every program in a competative field.

After having done a year in a specialty I don't like I can safely say that I would rather do EM in the Sistercouple, Arkansas Prison Program than any other specialty anywhere else. In other words, I have never interviewed at an EM program (either this year or last year) that was so malignant that I'd rather risk not matching and heving to scramble into something lame (which I did.

This does not apply if you have a potential rank list of 18. Let's be reasonable.

Do not count on the scramble. I know we hear stories about so-and-so scrambling into this or that desirable program but the truth is that the pickings can be mighty slim for anything other than medicince and FP.

Ranking all. I think 8. I believe there will essentially be no scramble this yr in gas.

good luck!

Oh, mine measures "10"- I'm not sure if that is metric or not though 🙁

Interviewing at 16, plan to rank 10-12 (general surgery).

IM - interviewed six, rank five.

Interviewed at 11 programs in psych, probably will rank 8.

-AT.

Interviewed at 12 neuro, will rank all 12. Really don't like #11 or #12 but better than risk of scramble which could be even worse!
