Terrible DAT experience...please help!!!!

Hello to all,
After writing the DATs I was not happy with my scores.

PAT: 22
Quan: 18
RC: 14!!!!!!!!! (5th percentile)
Bio: 18
Gen Chem: 19
Organic Chem: 18

I thought I was prepared for the test and expected much higher scores considering I knew the Kaplan book inside and out, studied Barrons, Cliffs, used Top Score pro and KSF Review. I just dont understand how I could have done so poorly on the RC (I felt like I did ok). Any experience anything like this with this section? I am planning on rewriting the exam and was wondering what else you guys suggest?

Also, would be fair to say the grade you get to some degree is influenced by what questions you get? I mean I beleive there is some element of the luck of the draw of questions that you know show up. Feedback is appreciated.

I for sure think there is a luck of the draw had I not gotten the piano passage i would have gotten a 20 on my dat.

you know wats soooo funny....I got that damn piano passage too!!!!!! wow!!!

What can I do to improve my RC?? I dont understand how it is possible to have gotten so low on that section!!

when i saw your RC scorei knew you got piano! exact same feeling after i finished my DAT same score in reading 😱

I just took mine and i wrote long ass page and didn't get posted....anway, i feel you and i think this is really unfair.. stupid ADA.. people say destroyer is good but on my version it had no good thing...i had graph on my orgo

Well I purchased the DAT destroyer, as well as AP Cliffs Bio, and DAT achiever and am going to give it another go. Im writing the Canadian one in November and the American one again in December. There isnt much differences between the two tests as far as bio and chem material is concerned is there?

What is the best source to practice RC?

Hope and Pray lol. I was getting between 22-25 on achiever reading and then in got pianoed and i got a 18. All luck of the draw, depends on what passages you get. RC killed my grade.

Your sciences are not bad, so just work on keeping them fresh. Qr is all about practice, and RC, unfortunately, just seems to be a hit or a miss depending on the test.
