I started this new name to stay anonymous.

At my school we have 3 big tests per year. Obviously these tests cover massive amounts of material that take some serious planning.
Well our administration decided to schedule several classes (2014 and 2015) and both pharm and med exams on the same day. These test days had been set since the beginning of the semester. They knew going in that they were the same days.
So its 2 weeks before our test and they now realized that there is going to be a major parking problem on campus. They have decided to move the test up a day from fri to thurs. Only some of the faculty are made aware of this change. The problem is that the secretary that normally handles email is on vacation and they are not gonna "notify" us until monday, giving us only a week and half notice. These few faculty let some students know of the change. Now the date has not "officially" changed, but some of our class is freaking out. Now I know that 1 day probable wont make a huge difference, but shouldn't the admin try to give us much more advanced warning than a week and half if they already know they will change the date? Anyone else heard of a med school changing a test date for such a crazy reason as parking? Or changing with such short notice?

3 big tests... ouch. We have 6 big block exams this semester and they've all seemed impossibly large so far. Each one was right around 4 hours. How long do your tests take??

Anyways, 1 day doesn't seem like a major kink in the plans if you've got a week and a half notice. I don't know what your tests are like obviously, but it sounds to me like this is a battle you are going to lose.

Meant 3 tests per semester. Sorry.
I know there is nothing I can do. It doesn't affect me much. Some of my classmates though are really pissed.
My problem is if they already know, why wait? It just doesn't make sense if they really care about us.
Our tests are 200 questions. 4hours

You don't by any chance to go UNECOM, do you? Seems like something they would do.

In all seriousness, one day with more than a couple days notice isn't such a big deal. If you haven't been studying all along, you're in trouble anyway.

Moving up the test day one day is no big deal since they will be notifying you >10 days in advance.

Medical school administrator failing at their jobs? Is the sky blue?

I don't think this is a big deal. A week and a half notice is plenty of time to tell you about a test date change. Also, if you guys only have a few exams a semester, you likely have been studying the whole time or should have been, so this one day difference should not make or break you. Yes it is annoying that the school couldn't get their **** together, but in the grand scheme of things this is minor.
