Test Date for DAT??

Hey Guys and Gals!

I was hoping to get some advice for when I should schedule the DAT. I currently am scheduled to take it Aug 7th but I am considering rescheduling the test to take it a week or two earlier (July 30ish)

Would there be any advantage (in the admissions process) in taking it earlier?

I have spoken to all of the schools I have applied to, roughly half said they would accept an unofficial DAT score that would be faxed in.

I completed the AADSAS Application June 8th and I have completed most of my secondaries.

Which schools said they would accept the faxed scores?

Generically, earlier is better. But a week isn't going to make a huge difference. Using that week to pull a higher score will benefit you more.

@Jeffity: That's what I was thinking when I originally scheduled for Aug 7th. A friend of mine told me that I won't make it into the first rounds of review with that date...

stick with the 7th... use that time to study your tail off - you'll be fine! Do well and you're still in the game for pre-dec interviews
