Hi guys.. My test is 2 weeks from today and I'm really nervous lol. I have a couple of questions that hopefully someone can help me with! Thanks a lot.
1. On page 709 of the big Kaplan book it says the energy pyramid goes producers on the bottom to consumers towards the top but on one of the flashcards it says it goes (top) sunglight, producers, primary consumers, secondary consumers, detrivores (bottom). Do you know which of these is correct. I think it is producers on the bottom because they have the most energy and sunlight would be below that. Where would the decomposers go?
2. Page 310 of the big kaplan book talks about the ozonolysis. It will only go to an aldehyde or ketone when reduced with 1) O3, 2) Zn/H2O and will go to an alcohol if reduced with 1) 03, 2)NaBH4. Page 314 is with an alkyene and the reagents are 1) 03,CCl4 2) H20 and it goes to an alcohol and carboxylic acid. Can an alykene be reduced to an aldehyde with 1) O3, 2) Zn/H2O?
Thanks again.
