So my goal is to get a 30 on the exam but the highest i have recieved on practice tests was 29. I have taken about 10 practice tests and hit 29 only three times, the others range from 26-28 and one with a 23. It seems the more and more i try to get a 30 by taking a practice test every two days or every other day, the worse i am getting. I wanted to take four more tests before the real one on sept 12, but i am worried that i am getting burnt out and that might be why this is happening. If you were in my shoes what would you do? continue taking more exams hoping things will improve?? Or would you just study content and take only a couple in between. By the way, i have been studying since the end of may so its pretty much been the entire summer.

Also, by going through so many other posts, it seems that everyone does worse on the real exam...now its freaking me out that i wouldn't see the same results or maybe even reach a 30 on the real one. I just dont know what to do anymore and feel like giving up 🙁

Don't just blindly take tests. Figure out WHY you're getting stuff wrong and review the stuff you're weak in. Use the tests to diagnose your trouble spots, but don't rely entirely on them ... they can't cover everything you're responsible for, and it's when the real MCAT has stuff on it you didn't expect that you score lower than anticipated.

If I were you I'd space out my test taking... maybe do 2-3 more, but really study in between. Reread your weak spots, revisit old tests, but don't just beat your head against one test after another hoping to bump into a better score 😉

Just taking tests doesn't make you better. Go back over your old tests and figure out your common mistakes. Do you know all the formulas? Do you have enough time? Do you misread questions? Do you know all the bio content? Do you make mistakes when you have to infer from the passage? Then figure out a way not to make those mistakes...spend more time on questions you often get wrong, make time to mark and review them on the test...etc. Just being aware of what you normally do wrong helps prevent it. If it's content thats holding you back then get cramming in your weakest areas. Do practice questions in them until your strong in them. Do some new tests as you go to see your progress. Try to get your practice scores higher than your goal. Good luck!
