How are you mailing your secondaries, app fees and photos? Fedex, overnight, priority, etc?

Or are you just literally sending them in big envelope from home?

Thanks in advance!

i think i sent most of them in manila envelopes priority mail and/or registered receipt. one of my secondaries i had to overnight actually the day before it was due... ironically, to the school i am matriculating to 😳

edit: oops i think i meant certified mail with return receipt, as the poster below me said.

I sent mine certified US mail w/ return receipt in a big envelope. That way you can prove that they received it. I think it only cost like $3.00

I used a good old 37 cent stamp with no problems. Maybe I've just been lucky, but in my experience most medical schools are extremely patient and understanding. Good luck!

This may be a stupid question, but how do you send something certified mail w/return receipt? Whats the benefit? Do I provide my own envelope?

Yes, just put all your stuff into your manila envelope. take it to the post office, there are two little forms you fill out with your address and the destination address and bring it to the counter. the postal worker sticks the forms on your envelope wherever they are supposed to be. the benefit is that when your package is received, there is a part of the form that is detached and mailed back to you, so the benefit is that you know that it was received. i forget whether it is signed by the person who accepts it or not.

if you need help, just go ahead and ask one of the postal workers how to send your envelope by certified mail.

Yes, you do get the signature of the recipient, so you know who to yell at if they mess up. 👍

Thanks guys!! I wasn't sure where to put the address--I was about to put it directly on the envelope!

i just put my TMDSAS certification form, photos, and check in a big manilla envelope, threw two stamps on there and put it in my mailbox. did the same with my UTSA secondary.

Did you send a self addrssed stamped postcard to UTSA so you know when your secondary was received? I was thinking certified mail will do the same trick.

no, i didnt do that, although i probably shouldve.

as much as i can avoid neurosis, i will

I got my pictures taken, but I still gotta take them to Wal-Mart to have them developed. I haven't even started on secondaries. I was waiting for my mcat score... now I am in a rush. Oops.

So you are sending secondaries before your TMDSAS app is literally transmitted to the schools? (They wait for all supporting docs, including the letters of eval)

Is that ok?

southwestern and san antonio say to submit the secondary after you submit the primary tmdsas app... so yeah, im going to go ahead and send em out

im still thinkning of something for that last southwestern essay, though
