I find that nauseating. I would consider two pharmacists: unlimited tech with a cap on the number of rxs at which the next RPH must be added.

One pharmacist is often defenseless against one tech in the all too common scenario where the DM has the tech's back and not the pharmacist's.

This is the same old same old. Prior generation pharmacists were no more passive than this one. And the next generation will blame yours for their martyrdom, as so on and so on. But collectively we are a group of saps. The people with the backbones get marginalized and no one gives a crap. I hope the big balled generation emerges before it is TOO LATE.

The big balled generation is shrinking everyday. They're the men and women who saved the world in WWII. The current generation of gutless, spineless, idiots would have folded faster than France if they switched places.

They recently tried to pass legeslation like this in Florida. Luckily it got denied.

They did this in New Mexico already. As a retail pharmacist, the main consequence I see is that we don't need to hire cashiers anymore - you can have techs run the cash register, which means the cashier doesn't have to call a tech to sell Sudafed. It hasn't really affected staffing otherwise, at least not at my company, because after a certain point the pharmacist is the bottleneck and there's no point in staffing more techs.

I think this would make a bigger difference for mail order pharmacies.

I find it humorous that the ones supporting the unlimited ratio are chain pharmacies and pharmacists. As if they will get more tech help if this happens hahahahahahaha SUCKERS! Keep drinking the CVS koolaid.

Woo! Hoo!

“Breaking News!

The Texas State Board of Pharmacy votes to withdraw the pending proposed rules regarding the elimination of pharmacist to pharmacy technician supervision ratio. A task force will be appointed to review duties of technicians and educational requirements. The ratio issue also may be addressed by the special task force.

The Board also approved developing new proposed rules raising the ratio from 1:3 to 1:4.

My thanks to those of you that took time to comment on these proposed rules – regardless of your position. Your participation is important”
