Hey guys. I am seriously thinking about choosing the DO route and want to go into general surgery or peds (i know i might change my mind). Is there opportunity for a successful osteopathic practice in the great state of Texas?

I think the last DO's to practice in Texas were lynched:scared:. Look up TCOM to read all about that

Haha, yeah ... you'll be fine. TCOM is one of the best DO schools out there, located in the republic of Tejas.

It was truly a horrific moment in DO history. All they wanted were their own physician assistants.

The in-state tuition for TCOM makes me wish I was a Texas native.

DO's are generally well-received down here. There is even a Texas-based osteopathic peds residency down in Corpus Christi, and TCOM also has a couple of good osteopathic residency programs. :) I plan on staying in Texas as well, and do not foresee any unusual problems.
