In my opinion UTSW nephrology is the best of Texas by a wide margin (although with Parkland, you work your ass off in the fellowship), while Baylor Houston which recently lost faculty, does not have a great rep like some of their other specialties do, and is more on the same level as the other UTs.

My friend told me that UTMB nephrology is very great because they have good team work and smart professors in their department especially their program director-DR Beach. I also think thier nephology department is ranked higher than any other in Texas. You can check that out yourself.

Just wanted to add to that. Dr. Beach is the best. He is very dedicated to his patients. He is the course director for our Renal course in 2nd year. He knows so much and likes to teach. There is also Dr. Remmers. You should definitely check it out.
