Hey guys, I just took the PCAT on Oct. 18, so now I am working on my applications to Texas pharmacy schools as I am a Texas resident. I had a question, should I send my apps in before I even get my score or should i wait. I was gonna wait because i figured they won't even look at my apps until everything is complete! Also, how did u guys deal with LOR for all these schools! Some schools require that they use the school's evaluation forms but what if I already have a LOR that was written couple of months ago, do I have to track him down to get the evaluation form filled out??? This is a pain. Can I just send letters instead of the official evaluation forms? Also, has anyone ever sent a committe letter to schools because I have a committe letter from my undergrad school but do I need to get evaluations filled out too...i'm soooo confused, maybe you guys can help and give me insight to Texas schools!!!

I remember UT Austin has an awesome LOR via email notifications, so all you have to do is letting them know that an email is gonna be on the way to their mailboxes. I think A&M, Texas Tech let you send typewritten LORs, but UH has its own evaluation form...I myself didn't have a problem to track them down and ask them to take time to fill in these forms...I guess it'll be better to use the evaluation forms of the school as a guideline helping the profs to know how to effectively evaluate you...you can always send the typewritten LORs together with the forms. That even makes your app looks greater!

I also took my PCAT in Oct and have already sent off all my applications. From what I hear, some schools hold on to your file and look at them in order of when it was submitted once everything is received. Other schools look at your application as things come in which would only help you to send everything now. I printed up all my recommendation forms and handed them out. Most did not have a problem because they used the same letter for each recommendation. I would not suggest sending the letters by themselves considering many have a system set up to make it easier when looking at all 700-800 applicants. I would also take my advice with a "grain of salt" considering that I am in the same position as you.
