Texas Resident, School list

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Why it be an issue? You get a degree like everyone else. If you want to specialize, jump through the hoops as normal
Roseman sucks at getting people into specialties. Very very bad. I don't think anyone has gotten into OS or Endo in the past 5+ years and the residences people get accepted into at roseman are the crazy expensive ones because we don't has class rank or gpa.

Also, (for Roseman) it isn't because it is a 3 year program, they just switched to a 3 year program so @lebronjamesofdentistry the only program to look at for that is UoPs but they for sure better at getting people into residency than Roseman's old 4 year program.

Roseman is a good school for general dentists, not for if you want to specialize.

Let's say with the year of extra income you cut the 440k to 370k, that's still a ridiculous amount of money to spend for a DDS. Significantly better than the other non-Texas schools though. Probably the best deal for a private school.
I choose Roseman's 3 year over my in-state school. my instate school was going to cost around $270k (school costs). For Roseman it cost $330k. Honestly I couldn't imagine spending an extra year in school. Just the headache's of jumping through hoops alone is worth an extra $100k minimum to be done a year earlier lol.

The Texas school though I would most likely choose over Roseman's. Any other programs probably not.

Does the 330k include cost of living? If so, for a three year program, that's not a horrible deal comparatively.

For OMS, it is you and the CBSE and externships, not the school. That is what matters. Idk the other specialties

No, luckily living in Utah is cheap. especially if you get roommates. I know people with 1-2 roommates that pay $600 a month in a nice townhome or apartment. I would say I spend around $18k-$20k per year for living ($60k for all 3 years). People for sure spend less than that in my class. I know some of my teammates are paying around $10k per year on living ($30k total).

Roseman's dental school is in an extremely safe area too (houses right next to the dental school are $1M+, lifetime fitness is the building right next to it. Average income in South Jordan is $130k a year. For sure not your typical dental school.

Oh yeah, I also have Louisville, but I feel like the two midwesterns might be too expensive? Still worth to go? I am willing to work 5 days a week in a rural area to pay off my debt but even then, is it worth it?
so you forgot to list louisville
did you forget anything else?

Nope sorry about that. Here's my updated list. Anything else I should add? I'm applying to schools based on tuition, if they are a clinical school, and serving the rural/undeserved community. Some may not have this mission, but like I may have found interesting like LECOM where PBL is utilized

Expensive. Although the AT stills are expensive, I liked what they stood for more
ok, it doesn't make sense that you give up schools that take a lot of TX residents when you state you don't want to take a gap year, but it's your list
i still think there are too many schools and too few privates, but once again, you do you
it is a much more logical list than any other one you had previously...
