Texas Southern vs FAMU

TSU NAPLEX passing rate has change and i think they are doing well now... check last years scores and you will see their new scores...

If FAMU, you mean Florida A&M? If so, the last time I heard, I think this school only accepts you if you went there as an undergraduate or they have a 6-year undergrad/grad program only for their kids. I'm not even sure if they accept the rest of the applicants outside of the college at all.

They do, it's just really hard to get into as a transfer.

FAMU is like 83%.

Ok thanks!! You just don't know how much that helps! I've been looking around to find information like that, but I haven't had much luck until now... thanks again!

Wow, I didn't know that at all!!! I'm glad I have several options...Thanks!!!

when i say it's hard to get into, i say
that because they fill all of their seats ifrst with people who completed the pre-reqs at FAMU. the remainder of the seats are for transfers, which you imagine is not that many. but i you completed all their pre-reqs with decent grades maybe even had extra curicular's it should be fine. i remember reading something awhile. you should see this thread: http://more.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=694909

Both schools are in areas in which I would to live in, but which school is better?
Unless you have superb stats plus the experience (both volunteer and pharmacy tech) to get into any school you want, I hope you're not limiting yourself to just 2 schools, especially 2 schools with passing rates that are only decent.

I have several other options, but these two I'm deciding on which one is really worth my time to apply.

Your time is worth a lot more if you spend applying to more than 2 schools. 3 to 6 applications are well worth your time.

Is there a particular reason why those two schools are giving you a hard time?

I have a brother that is in dental school, and he suggests that I pick a school with a good reputation (in ranking, scores, etc.). However, he mentions these schools' reputations are falling. Also, I am applying to four more schools (UT Memphis, South, Samford, and Mercer). I just don't want to make a bad decision and end up attending an institution that will I regret.

Well, look on the bright side: you have 4 other places in which you can get into. So, if you do get into TSU, FAMU, and any of the 4 you have left, you have choices.

Point is, it won't hurt you to do both.

Thanks for your help!!!

I don't know about FAMU, but TSU would be a great option $$$-wise... (if you're in-state that is....)
