Hello fellow classmates, any of you purchased you laptop yet? I looked them up on DELL web this morning, and it seems that D610 /D810 is not in their product line any longer. Instead they have D-620/ D-820. I've left a message for School's IT office.

If you have purchased urs, which brand?

Hey there, I'm actually replying to you on my new D820. They mentioned the change at the interview date for us. But the change may have not happened yet if you interviewed earlier. I figured for the small price difference you get a lot more machine in the 820, plus I did some upgrades to make it that much more useful over the long term. It's a really nice machine, not heavy at all when considering the size, it only weighs about 1/2 pound more than my brother's D610 (he's jealous).

Good luck with the decision, I'd go with one of the dell's through the school website. See ya in august

I'm leaning towards D-620. I have Inspiron 9300 (12/05) and boy is it heavy. I thought about using it for P1 but with all the talks about crashing, I'm scared. I'll would ask when my my call is returned.

Hey Jbupharm, how does the program work? do you pay right away or would the school pay from the loans you are getting?

do you mean how does the payment work? I just payed for it up front, I don't believe the school has any involvement with the acquisition of the laptops other than the discount and stuff. If you want to talk to the IT people just call, they're easy to talk to and get a hold of and such, I haven't tried e-mailing them or anything

Hi Jbuprepharm,

I just spoke with Dexter, and he said my 9300 inspiron will do fine. I just have to send it to Amarillo for them to do the upgrades. What a relief.
