TFE question and pattern folding question

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
For the first TFE, the answer given is correct. For the base, because the lines are all solid from front and end view (two solid lines in between the edge), that indicate the base part "longer" than the star is made of a protrusion.

For the pattern folding, I think the answer is wrong, as you will only be able to get A if you fold the thing out of paper, instead of fold into the paper. Since it is against the general rule of pattern folding, it can't be the correct answer.

for the first one, yeah because the front view lines and end view lines are solid you would assume that there is a change in depth which is evident for choice c and not choice d

for the pattern the answer is correct... turn it 90degrees counter clock and u will see how it works.
