Hi, so when I was doing the TFE Bootcamp generator for almost all the problems i was able to employ line counting method and when i started doing the actual Bootcamp practice tests this method does not work. I'm getting all questions wrong. What's going on? What would be the best method to employ for this section of PAT? Is there any tutorial on that?

If you have DAT genius they have the best TFE guide! If I remember correctly too, the Bootcamp explanations are pretty good too. Literally the best guide out there for those kinds of problems. Line counting doesn't work for all of the TFE problems so it isn't a reliable method. The best tip I received when studying for TFE was knowing that all of the drawings are drawn to scale.

For the TFE generator, you should use that just to help you visualize the shapes. The computer program that runs it isn't going to have the complexity of shapes as real practice tests, and real practice tests is what you should be actually using to judge yourself

line counting still can be used for a lot of questions, just not all of them. TFE is arguably the hardest section to start with but once you understand it, its not that tricky. Just keep practicing.

I heard that the makers of the DAT found out about the trick of line counting and actually made it so you cannot eliminate every option using only line counting. You'll probably only be able to eliminate one of the options using that technique. TFE was also the hardest part for me. Just keep on practicing and learning to visualize the shapes in your mind!

Perfect advice. Definitely try to always visualize the entire shape.

I personally never used line counting and I would consistently get 13 to 15 correct on TFE.

Cube counting, TFE, and hole punching can become easy points once you perfect a method. Angles, folding, and keyholes were usually tougher with fewer freebies, at least that is how I felt.
