Are there any motor tracts/pathways that go through thalamus? I've found all sensory pathways that go thru thalamus but none in motor so far.

Also, lesion at the level of thalamus (VPM) on one side disrupt solitary tract ipsilaterally or contralaterally?.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Dentothalamic pathway from the dentate nuclei in the cerebellum to the ventral lateral nucleus in the cerebellum is one I can think of. The ventro anterior and ventrolateral nuclei are involved in the basal ganglia circuit and receive fibers from the globus pallidus and thus are involved in the motor pathway.

I believe the lesion would be ipsilateral because there is no decussation of gustatory fibers at the brainstem level.

Just thinking about answering your questions made me shiver....
