Hello everyone,

I am getting interview offers. Each time, I wonder what the best way to respond to the offer to interview is.

Sure, I could just pick a date and never contact them, but I do not want to do that.

Is something as short as "Dear Dr. ------ and School X admissions,

I am honored to have received this invitation! I am delighted to have the chance to meet you.

Again, thank you, and I am looking forward to the visit.

Best Regards,

My name"

If its any shorter it looks bare, but even this is redundant. What do you think?

Should I add some more info to beef it up??

Thanks!!

Why even bother? Unless it's the dean sending out the invitations personally just keep it as short as possible. Thank them and move on.

Wait and send a thank you note after you interview when you have more to say. Writing a thank you note before you even go to the interview is like composing a thank you for a present you haven't even unwrapped yet.

Agreed. Plus I like this analogy.

All my invites have asked me either to go to the website and "choose a date" from the calendar OR to "call some designated secretary and schedule it".

During one of my interviews, we were told specifically that the Committee did not appreciate THANK YOU NOTES for the interview.

Just a heads up.

I wouldnt do this, unless you have to RSVP. If you dont have to, just pick the date.
