Has anyone sent or recommend sending in a thank you letter to the interviewer after having a pharmacy school interview?

I think you already did enough ***kissing during the interview, so why don't you just relax now?

I had a feeling someone would respond that way. I was asking a serious question because I have heard of students doing this after their interviews. Don't be bitter man 😉

I don't think it matters...probably definitely doesn't help your chances. I sent thank you cards just because I thought it was the nice thing to do. They did invite me for an interview and faculty did take the time to interview me...so decide for yourself.

I disagree with konkan - I think it's important to follow up an interview with a thank you. When is it ever wrong to be polite? 😕

I sent a thank you card. My interviewer was very thankful for that. It will never hurt to establish good relationships with faculty/administration of the school that you might attend. I would say go for the thank letter: it is not that hard to write it.

Thank you all so much for the advice! One last question, should I send a thank you letter or card? Thanks again!!

Letter, it is much more professional.

I disagree with the previous poster....but these are just opinions - all of them work just fine!

I like thank you notes! I took my time (this is not part of my regular job) so I like you recognizing that fact.

I like it handwritten. That lets me know it isn't on your computer & you've just pushed F6 to merge print it with my name & address.

A smaller note will get my attention. All other business envelopes will get pushed aside until I get time to open the mail & when I was interviewing, I wasn't at the school everyday.

Finally, at that point....your thank you is personal and professional. You really can do both in an acceptable way.

Both will work fine - the point is....be sure to thank the interviewer at some point, either during, after or both for the time & interest he/she showed in you.

Happy Thanskgiving!

I sent a thank you e-mail. The interviewer sent back an e-mail and was appreciative. I think it is a polite thing to do!

I sent a thank you email.....I got in......🙂

i've been on number of corporate job interviews and a follow up thank you email is very important. i'm assuming a pharm school interview would be no different.

Does the school have faculty websites? Maybe looking through those will jog your memory.

Ya! I look at the school's website, but there is no picture of them!!!🙁

Call & ask to speak with the admissions secretary. Explain what day you had your interview and be honest, self-deprecating & HUMBLE. Ask if she could review with you the names of the people who spoke with you that day. Often there was more than one - right? Someone might have given you an overview, someone from the office may have addressed the group to give interview room assignments, someone may have given you a tour, etc....When you get them all - then you'll know who to thank since you only interviewed with one. She/he knows the name of everyone who worked the interview process that day.

Its really ok....secretaries get this all the time & many individuals don't have business cards to give - the students who give the tours for example. So...its ok to have missed or have lost a business card.

In the future.....after thanking them for their time and information, ask if they have a business card. Then guard it like your own ID!🙂

Good luck!

It is a better idea to thank them at the end of the interview so you make a good impression. If one is confident of their stats then nothing else should be required. However, Im sure it depends on the interviewer whether they positively respond to thank you letters or not. If you write it make sure you express yourself genuinely because these people are not fools, Im sure they will suspect if you are just thanking them in order to increase your chances. Consider they are busy people and the last thing they wanna do is read an overdone thank you letter. Best of luck.

So in summary, there is no right or wrong answer. It depends on the type of people your dealing with. Some people get pissed off when you send them a thank you letter, email, card, etc because they think you want to improve your chances and think you take the adcom to be fools. On the other hand, some are flattered by your actions.

However, one thing is true that was stated on this thread earlier. In the corporate world, you need to send thank you notes if you want to get that job. It makes a big difference.
