I know similar questions have been asked here before, but I have yet to see a definitive answer. I am interviewing at a school with MMI format. Would it be appropriate to write a short, handwritten note to the admissions committee thanking them for the opportunity, or would it be better just to email them saying thanks?

Either way I anticipate the letter being shorter than if I had a one-on-one interview. I plan on just saying thank you generally and sharing aspects I enjoyed about the day.

Any advice here is greatly appreciated

I just formally wrote an email and emailed the admission office secretary you can also get a formal card and mail it either or. Though its not a requirement.

I can't see how a "thank you" for an MMI makes any sense.

For me, it was my only Mmi and I enjoyed it much more than traditional style so I let them know how much I preferred how they were doing interviews. Also when does being respectful and saying thank you ever hurt?

If they ask you not to send "thank you" notes, don't send one. That said, what can you really thank them for, not having an interview?

Just sent a thank you note to the Admissions dean, if your mama taught you to be polite.
