Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum although I have visited this site many times to read the threads posted.

I was wondering what the etiquette is for sending thank you emails/letters to the people you interviewed with. I recently interviewed at Kansas State and was contemplating this. Is it too pushy or brown-nosy to do this? any thoughts would be appreciated!

:luck: good luck to everyone! it's funny...i've been reading everyone's posts and I am relating very well about being totally obsessed about the mail, email and phone calls! glad to know i'm not alone!

I was in the same boat and I asked some K-state students what they thought and they all said that it would be a nice touch and show them how serious you are about the whole thing so I did it. Also, if you didn't get your interviewers name, they should be able to tell you based on where you interviewed and what time/day. Hope that helps!

i was stuggling with this too, so i asked my boss (a prof of medicine and a dean) and she said it isn't brown nosy if you do it with class and not get too gushy. if you met with someone you particularly want to work with, a special note would be appropriate (but can't send to everyone). b/c colorado paid for my trip down there, i sent personalized letters to everyone, from the dean's office staff thanking them for organizing everything, to each of my interviewers (thanking them for their particular advice), and to the students i met with. i truly hope i didn't come off like a suck-up - i just tried to make as sincere as possible, which i hope came through. if i don't get accepted and they say it was b/c of the letters, i'll post so no one else makes the same mistake.:scared:

a quick email to each of your interviewers thanking them for taking the time to meet with you is definitely not over the top.... keep it short and sweet though.
