Thank you notes

Now this is going to sound weird, but I've been stressing about sending my stupid thank you notes for days now. I'm going to send one out tomorrow, about six days after my interview since I figure they won't meet for probably another week about me.

But yeah, I bought one of those packs of the little cards and it just seems weird to write the address and put stamps on such a little envelope. Is this what everyone does (when they send a note)?

Yes, as long as it doesn't have a cute picture on the front.

If it seems too weird, then use some professional-looking stationary with a bigger envelope. Then you'll have more space to write on.

Normally I don't even send thank you notes/cards (just an email to everyone I spoke with). But I will because I'm getting more desperate. I've been wait listed at every school so far and I really don't want to come back empty handed after 8 interviews...

They don't have a cute picture. Just a "Thank You" on the front and a border. I think it looks somewhat professional other than the fact that the cards are so small.

I do not think not sending thank you notes has anything to do with you being wait listed.

I feel like giving a thank you letter feels so trite, I mean its as if most people give them, so it doesn't feel personal. Its more like doing it because you feel like you have to... I dunno

They should be personal and not just a standard expression of thanks. Each should refer specifically to something important or "stand-out" that was discussed at the interview with that person, to jog their memory about who you were.

LOL. fwiw, i used little cute cards that were assorted designs and had bright colored envelopes for my thank you cards. don't stress about this. you're being thoughtful, and your interviewers will appreciate it. hopefully. lol
