Thanks to all of you working in the ED tonight so that I could be home with my family on Christmas Eve. I got you covered next year.

The coolest thing about being a Muslim in the states is that I can work on the holidays so my friends can take off. Do you think that my future partners would appreciate it by letting me take off on my two holidays since I am always volunteering to work the Christian holidays?
My group is very good about this. As the group 'atheist', I volunteer to work all the Christian Sun Myth holidays in exchange for considerations including, but not limited to, Spring Training, Superbowl Sunday and the Stanley Cup Finals.

Which is less likely to happen this year, the rapture or the Stanley Cup?😀
Stanley cup will get awarded. Mayans = not making the playoffs. Bad coaching, too many dumb penalty mins. No depth on the wings.
Good joke, docB. 🙂
I was very disappointed in the Mayans. I wish they could give the Stanley cup to an AHL or college team on "off years" (which have become all too common).
As one of the token Jews in our big group, I always offer to work Christmas Eve and Christmas at one of our sites. I'm already one of the nocturists of the group, and so far no one's complained when I ask off for Yom Kippur (or much else). Trust me, no one wants a doctor who is spending 24hrs fasting!
