I understand schools won't give you an official decision until your app is entirely complete, but why are so many people delaying filling out the AADSAS application until after? Even if you do smoke the DAT and start filling out your app afterwards, you have a solid wait (especially at the busiest time of the cycle, now) to get everything processed and sent out. I submitted my app last year on 7/09....everything wasnt processed until 8/14 and mailed out around 8/30. Things really bog down in the next few weeks. It doesn't matter if they have received all of your transcripts/LOR etc...Until you e-submit, they won't begin to calculate your GPAs. And if you notice, they put it may take 4-6 weeks for times like these, where people rush to get it done by the end of July. Trust me, been there.

I congratulate all that do well on the DAT in July/August, but have your aadsas app done prior to taking the exam. The DAT is just a portion of the app. Schools will still look at your app without a DAT score and just mark it to look at again when your scores come in, if they liked what they saw initially. Also, then there will be hundreds of "Why haven't I heard from anywhere yet" threads...and many times the answer will be because you applied later.

Some schools have admitted that although they accept applications until December or so, they only honestly get through the first few batches that were sent in to find their interview candidates. Such as schools that get 3000+ apps. Moral of the story- APPLY EARLY (It even stresses this on the ADA website) and that way once your exam is over with, your app will be mailed out in a much more timely manner.

However, thank you...as I finish another secondary

Many people stress this but people who i've been speaking to all tell me that this is a myth unless you have bad stats. Someone like me would probably need to apply early with an AA of 19 but someone with an AA of 21 + and a solid Gpa doesnt really need to go nuts. I know tons of people who submitted their apps in august/sept and got shtloads of interviews and acceptances.
