Thanks a bunch sdn... You've been my only friend for the past month😛

PAT: 23
AA: 22

Overall I'm happy with my scores... yet completely amazed by how simple the questions were... I actually regret studying for more than maybe 2 weeks for this thing, because I seriously think I would have done just as well if not better. I'm super happy that it's over though and that everything went well. Feels stellar to know I won't have to retake :soexcited:

PAT: This was HARD. I had been averaging 26-30 on CDP. Hole punching was easy, but everything else was a step above CDP (in my opinion)... then again, maybe I just got too used to the way that CDP looks. Considering what I was getting in CDP, I'm actually pretty dissapointed with this score... although I obviously can't complain too much.

QR: Math Destroyer was money in the bank. That and some educated guessing. I started to run out of time, so I guessed on the last 6... then had time to go back and fix one of those.

RC: First passage was hard and I actually had to read it. However, for the other two... I answered all of the questions without even reading the passages and then went back to check my answers... I think I only changed maybe 2... so that was interesting.

BIO: ehh... I'm a bio major, so I'm not super excited about this score. I felt like the questions were very easy/simple... I just couldn't remember some of the stuff for the life of me.

GC: This section was a straight up joke... Obviously I didn't know some of the material, but still... very very easy. Watch Chad's vids once and if you understand the stuff you should be set.

OC: I did destroyer within the last month and I don't feel that it helped me at all (other than the roadmaps). I don't feel that any material I used (recently) prepared me for the way these questions were presented. However, I do think that organic odyssey had a lot of similarly presented questions... but since I went through that over a month ago, I didn't really remember a lot of it. I had to essentially reteach myself orgo, so I eneded up studying for this section the most.

Materials: Kaplan BB, DAT Destroyer, Organic Odyssey, Math Destroyer, Cliff's AP Bio (w/CD-rom), Cliff's AP Bio Flashcards, Exam Krackers Audio Osmosis, ACS Orgo, ACS Gchem, Topscore, CHAD's Gchem and Orgo vids (took lots of notes)

Practice Scores:

Kaplan BB (july):
PAT: 24 QR:16 RC:18 BIO:19 GC:17 OC:20

Topscore 1 (August):
BIO: 25 GC:20 OC:25 QR:17 RC:19
Topscore 2 (~2 weeks ago):
BIO:24 GC:23 OC:24

CDP: 1:22 2:24 3:26 4:26 5:27 6:28 7:30 8:30

My advice... don't bother with dat destoyer. Other than the roadmaps I thought it was useless... questions are way to hard (especially gchem). I ran through the orgo section twice and killed it both times... for gchem I missed essentially every calculation problem and knew every conceptual... gchem in destroyer seemed massively useless to me. Bio I only went over the first 150 questions... so I can't really comment here... although I'm pretty sure I did have a repeat question...

If anyone has any questions, feel free to post them... although please don't ask me for any specifics, because I won't answer.

Also, redbull on break is what all the cool kids are doing. It will give you a 25 in RC without having to actually read the passages.

If anyone wants to buy anything and can do paypal, hit me up. Everything is the newest edition and in near perfect condition... except for my KBB and cliffs ap bio, which are straight soaked in highlighter

Nice scores. Thanks for the breakdown. Did you think destroyer helped at all for bio? Thanks for the advice on the math destroyer. I have it but I didn't know if I would get to it. I will definitely look over it now. Thanks!

Amazing job- I am glad someone else agrees with me that Destroyer is just way over-hyped around SDN!

amazing scores. i would be so happy.

in regards to RC, how did you prep for that section or what strategies did you employ and are you a good reader in general?

Thanks.

Congrats on a great score. It feels great to be done huh? 😉

Feels sooo good haha. I just woke up after my first night out ina while ha (it's 5pm out here).

I just looked at the bio real quick and I definately had a question that was almost identical to one I had on the actual test. I only ran through the first 150 questions and since I think the new stuff goes at the back, I'm assuming there may be more. So I guess I would go on record recomending the bio section.

I only went through the first 5 tests on math destroyer and spent probably 3-4 hours on each one going over the answers and such. That book really tries to drill a few concepts into your head and I think those few concepts are what really helped me out in that section.

Also for math... some of the more recent posts I found to be really helpful.
this site is great http://www.prepfortests.com/gmat/tutorials/geometry - ran through the areas I was still a little iffy on 2 nights before... had great explanations (I thought).
and this post http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=658017 - I wrote this down before hand and I think it helped me get a question right thatI otherwise would have skipped.

I hardly studied for math and I think math destoryer saved me here.

I had no strategy going into the RC section.. I think that hurt me a little on the first passage... but for the second 2, I used the examkrakers method of trying to answer the questions before you read it lol.. and loved it. If you can get your hands on their stuff (even though it's mcat dirrected), the RC section is really short and I thought they had some really good tips (that were clearly helpful on the dat as well).

The only studying I did was the KBB in-book test and the 1st topscore. I didn't do great on either one of those, so when I saw that 25 I was in shock.

I wouldn't consider myself a great reader, you just really have to focus when you're doing that section. That's the biggest key for sure. After the first passage I was pretty sure I wasn't going to do well, so I used that "don't read the passage" method to get through the other two real quick and then had time to fix probably half of the first passage (saved my score) and s&d the other two to find that I only had 2 or 3 questions that didn't appear to be correct🙂 so big thanks to EK... I should say that there were also a bunch of inference questions on the last two, so I think the EK method would be more than a little risky... but even those questions seemed kind of obvious when you really thought about it analytically.
