It appears that there are a few Directors/Deans of Admission/AADSAS who have yet to make the transition from the Julian to the Gregorian Calendar. In fairness to the ds that let the cat out of the bag a little too soon, it is not clear why in 2010, Nov 30 was an acceptable notification date while this year the magic date was supposed to be Dec. 3. A few SDNers went postal when their sneak preview did not give the expected results. Why it is unfair for some to have received their Christmas present earlier than other was not entirely explained though, admittedly, some were able to enjoy a more restful night(s).

All I can say is that it was a consensus decision to make December 3 the notification date. The technical glitches were unanticipated, so this will be something to take into account in the future.

I will say though that one of the considerations is that I feel there is still concern that having a November 30 official notification date would not stop some schools' deans to notify even earlier than November 30.

What benefits would the schools that jumped the gun by a picosecond, one day or even one week have and what deleterious effect would the schools that played by the rules experience? Since you were a casualty of the "technical glitches" and now have first hand experience, what advantage will you be seeing for Case with the 3 day premature disclosure of those accepted?
