I am surprised at the analysis that everyone above a 39 got into a medical school. Not that they shouldn't, but I have a good friend that goes to a top 15 school, and she told me that there was a girl she knew well that had a 41 or 42 MCAT, and hadn't honored any classes going into their third year. I know the MCAT is a standardized test, but it is like the medical schools asssume that if you have a 39+ you have a spot somewhere. Where if you had a 4.0 or published papers, you aren't guaranteed that acceptance. Just funny. I am not saying that people who score high can't cut it, but I think it is funny the admissions personnel assume that they can. I am good in both GPA and MCAT, but I know a lot of people from High School that barely graduated because they never came to class and never studied, but aced the SAT (1500+)or ACT(34+). I just don't think the test tales everything, but I think that is what admissions offices look at.
