It might be true that some people on this forum went too far or were too passionate, but I don't think any of these people had ever claimed to represent the ASA or speak for anyone other than themselves.
This is the INTERNET, and here people are free to express their opinions.
It is disheartening to see the ASA being so critical and judgmental in dealing with the members of this forum who happen to be ASA members.
I truly think that we are owed more understanding and maybe guidance from the organization that represent our interests.

You are correct. What is wrong with "venting" a little on the internet? What is wrong with listing things that need to be addressed and problems with the specialty? I like my Metaphors but was only using them to illustrate a point.
This isn't my In-Laws house and I am free to speak my mind.

because it is rarely constructive or productive.

Your opinion friend. Others disagree and have joined the private forum. We want change and the AANA's agenda stopped. You on the other hand like things the way they are because it is your turn for the money. I don't blame you but come over to the private forum where our replies can be more productive.

I think getting the ASA President on this site SHOWS our concerns and posts are PRODUCTIVE.

If Dr. Lema thinks it's bad here, he needs to go over to www.allnurses.com. It's mighty tame and professional here compared to over there.

I rather think that our prez's visit on this site shows that it has generated complaints and likely from fellow physicians for unprofessional conduct.

While Volatile may be harsh at times, he has been professional in this argument.
