ok, so i normally don't watch the bachelor/bachelorette shows, but i was wondering if anybody caught last night's premiere and had any comments!

this year, the coveted bachelor seems to be some kind of ER doc. the women were falling all over themselves when they found out he was a doctor.

what really caught my attention was the crazy oncologist lady who was 33, and teh first thing i heard her say was "FRANKLY, MY EGGS ARE ROTTING." and she told everybody there that she was there to find a man so she could enter her REPRODUCTIVE CYCLE. needless to say, she did not get a rose. and she actually was warped enough to find the bachelor and chew him out for it! then she blasted all men on the universe for being intimidated by a well-educated professional mature woman. wooow. wow.

i hope i am never that desperate when i am in my mid-thirties doing my residency or something!!

I watched it with the sound off briefly while on a treadmill. I'm glad. 33 and your eggs are rotting?? Holy crap.

I did learn one thing though even with the sound off. That guy is pretty hot.

yeah, she was the short brunette one who was wearing a silver halter dress. the guy was nice and tall.

can you imagine, even if you were a woman who wanted to have kids soon, if some guy were to come up to you and say "i need your womb so i can reproduce!" my gosh.

Well, at least his big brain was working more than the little brain if he got rid of the oncologist. I didn't see the episode... I heard who the bachelor was and pictured WWE wrestling when the women found out he was a doctor. His pictures were really fabulous, though.... makes me want to do a residency at Vanderbilt.

Yeah, I watched it as well. I was shocked by what she said. Even if her only intention to be on the show was to find the guy so that she could reproduce, she didn't have to be sooo damn blunt about it, especially not the first time she meets the guy. I think most, if not all, guys will get chased away quickly by that. Of all the girls in the show, I think she looked the most competitive....it's like I"m here to win myself a guy for reproduction purposes no matter what. I could see fire coming out of her ears when she didn't get chosen whereas the other ones looked disappointed 😀 . Get a grip, woman and stop degrading yourself like that. He's not the only guy on this Earth. It's just so funny. For God's sake, this is not medical school, where you can win by putting in just your damn effort. Relationship is a two way thing.

About the bachelor, I think he's quite good looking. I wonder how is it that he's that good looking, well educated, but couldn't get himself a girl all this time? Hmmmm....strange..

i imagine that most of these types of guys taht have everything going for them are not willing to settle down with just one girl yet because he feels like he can have more than one pretty girl hanging all over him! and he will always feel like he can do better or something.

he is probably not on the show because he can't find himself a wife. he's probably doing it because in some way he was attracted by the idea of being on tv, adored by a harem of women handpicked for him, and living it up in paris. have you seen ANY of the guys on the bachelor or bachelorette shows end up marrying the girl?(except for krista's sweetie fireman) no. they are not on that show to get married. next thing you know they are dating other B-list celebrities and getting paid to do random commentary on E! entertainment shows or similar!

Not to over generalize, but of the male docs I've met, I find the ER and pediatric ones most attractive and humorous. 😛

Well he was set up by his friends...apparently they told him to meet them at a bar in town that was having a casting for the Bachelor that night...he told the casting crew NO at first but his sister convinced him to do so...

I don't normally watch the show but since he is from my hometown, I've decided to keep up this season. Unfortunately I have lab on Monday night starting tonight so I'll have to have you guys keep me up-to-date.

Anyone knows of rerun/encore??? Supposingly they rerun it but I couldn't find any information about it... 🙁

Well of all the people we should know how BUSY doctors are...my friends don't have time to go out with me anymore so I assume he is that busy too...Now, how could he find a gf if he doesn't have time to go out????

ps- if you think he is HOT on TV, you should have seen him in person...hahaha

And it was a bit ironic that his response to her reproductive comments were something along the lines of not wanting to "put the cart before the horse," but isn't it just as premature to be thinking of marrying these women that he just briefly met? The whole thing is romance/marriage on speed (which is ridiculous in itself), so thinking of starting a family isn't that big of a leap.

And yeah, the women gasping at him being a *Doctor!* just made me roll my eyes..

Oh you are totally right about the whole process being ridiculous, but that girl went above and beyond the crazy mark. I mean, even if you do feel that way, wouldn't it be better not to embarrass yourself on t.v. like that? In fact, the only reason I watched the show at all is because so many people were making fun of her the next day. That is terrible.

I think his friends rigged it in favor of Sara Canada, but that's ok, because I relaly didn't like the model chick. Plus, she was another one who was probably just trying to get an acting career started. I like her, but I think she's too immature. I think it'll come down to her and Susan. He keep saying that he feels this amazing "connection" with Sara Canada, but I think it's like the Bachelorette (with Trista and Ryan) where she kept on talking about how she felt this connection with Charlie, but then she chose Ryan. A lot of it is editing - so really the producers get more say in what is portrayed than anything.

I think it'll come down to the two Sarahs, Jehan, and Susan in the end. I'm betting he winds up with Susan. Sarah Nashville is too clingy/dependent/went to college for her Mrs./Southern belle (not that there's anything wrong with that, I just think that if that's what he was looking for he would have already found it in between Duke, UVA Med, and Vandy residency!).

i watched the double-ep special yesterday. whoever that girl was who kept saying that the doctor was supposedly saving the first kiss for her, i felt really sorry for her and her delusions. of course when the producers set you up on romantic dates in paris with a guy on the make, you are going to think it's the most romantic thing in the world and you were meant to be together. hopefully she will learn that the bachelor is making ALL the girls feel like they are "the one" and are totally shocked and crying when they get kicked off with no rose.

and although all the girls seemed to hate that dark-haired girl who got a rose on the yacht, i think she is the most level-headed and realistic of them all. please, they are not there to make friends. they are all eventually going to be fighting over this one guy. and she came in to the competition knowing that you can't instantly fall in love with somebody and declare that you are without even having the opportunity to go on "real" dates etc. you have to give it time. (but maybe that doesn't really work in this fast-paced show setting.)

if i was a betting person my money would be on that susan girl with the dark hair. she is the best-looking of the lot and the bachelor seemed pretty smitten with her. unless she freaks out and does something disastrous, she totally seems like his type.

one other thing that bothers me about the show is that all the girls are like in their early twenties. how old is that doc? he has to be like mid to late thirties... he looks kinda old. with most of these girls that's like a 10-15 year difference. maybe i'm just too conservative. for those of you who know him in real life, are those the type of girls that he likes to date? really young girls fresh out of undergrad, all giggly and fussing with their hair and swooning at the title "doctor." geez.

Hee hee, not only do they send them on incredibly romantic dates in Paris, but have you ever notice the copious supply of alcohol on these shows? No wonder they are all so quick to fight/make out/fall in love/etc. I'm not sure if very many reality shows would work without alcohol. 😛

Totally agree with BooMed. Every show that has some action has some alcohol involved. When there is alcohol in you you tend to do stupid things but unfortunately that is a BIG SELL for the show....how sad!

I don't know about this doc but I definitely cannot and will not make a decision to spend my entire life with someone I just met in 6 wks. Don't get me wrong. I do believe LOVE at first sight but that ain't happening on the show. Anyhow, he didn't have any ALONE time with any of the girls and will not. The crews are always around taping. How are you going to know the REAL someone when you both are always observation???

I am anxious to see who he will end up with. Saw him at a bar last Friday with some of his friends. My friends said he was drunk but I can't vow for that b/c I didn't pay attention to what he was doing. 😀 Although it was a big commotion at the bar among the girls knowing he was there though. hahaha...haven't they seen a Doctor before???? 🙄
