the boiling point of water on a peak of high moutain, as compared to the boiling point of water at sea-level, would be:

a. higher
b. lower

I said it is higher, b/c at high altitude, the atomsphere pressure is higher, thus the vapour pressure needs to be higher in order for the water to boil. Thus, boil point is higher.

But the answer key said it is actually b. lower ... what is wrong with my logic? thanks!

atm pressure is lower as you go up the mountain...your logic is correct, simply reversed!
