Can someone kindly break it down for me in DAT terms? This is my most hated biology subject, so I always tend to skip it

medulla/pon= breathing center

hypothalamus= temperature control, BP, hunger, thirst (most important functions)

Thalamus= relay station. processes the info and sends it to the cerebral cortex for action.

cerebral cortex- high level integration.

amygdala- anger

hippocampus- memory

frontal lobe- personality

temporal lobe- sound (temple is by ears...)

occipital lobe- vision (occ should remind you of eye)

those are some basics i dont think you would need to go any further than that.

just to add one more that is important:

cerebellum: motor control
hypothalamus: main homeostatic control center
pons, brainstem: related to sleep mechanisms
CSF = cerebrospinal fluid - absorbs shock to brain
cranium = skeleton (flat and round) that protects the brain
