I had a question concerning possible mcat questions concerning the central dogma.

Because there are retroviruses discovered which have reverse transcriptase, I was wondering if the central dogma includes a reversal from RNA to DNA as well.
Or is this excluded from the central dogma concept??

example:
The central dogma indicates that:
I.) Proteins can be made from RNA
II.) DNA can be made from DNA
III.) DNA can be made from RNA

A.) I and II
B.) I, II, and III

I'd go with A. While III is true, it's not part of the "central dogma" I learned. I'd be unhappy with the question though.

it's excluded, so the answer's A. i believe the central dogma was established before the discovery of reverse transcriptase so it wasn't included.
