Hello current optometry students

I will be starting school this fall and would like your input on the cost of attendance (tuition + living etc). each school provides to applicants. I'm sure every school is different but would like as many answers as possible.

During my interviews, some current students told me that the yearly figure the school provides is an exaggeration. Have you experienced this to be true? Or is it fairly accurate? Has anyone found it to be an underestimation?

Ex. ICO's estimate works out to about $220K. SUNY's estimate works out to about $200K (out of country). How accurate are these values?

what were your costs for books/supplies/OD kit each year?

The cost each semester will change. if you have to buy your BIO that semester you will spend an extra $1000-$2000 dollars on that. Books are the things that you will save money on. They gave is a gigantic list of books that nobody bought. I have bought 3 books total in my first 2 years of school. At least that worked for me at Pacific where I go. But, I actually have no idea how much I am in debt right now 🙂. But it definitely won't be 200K. I'm expecting to be around 100K or so.
