Hi.
Ok, so my girl and I 😍 are very seriously considering what they call "the couples match."
Does anyone have any experience with this? Anything at all? Personal? Word-of-mouth?
I'd love to get some feedback.
From what I understand, and am able to glean from the not-very-informative ECFMG website, anyone can apply as a "couple." Husband and wife. Gay lovers. Bosom buddies. Roommates. Boy and his dog (assuming the dog passed Step 1 and 2).
But, the question is: "Does it work?" And: "Is this a good idea?" 😕
The positive things I've heard mostly hinge on the alleged assumption residency programs "make." That is, if they have a couple, then those residents are less likely than single residents to split or quit the program mid-training. So, they are more likely to hire the couple. I don't know the stats on people leaving programs, but it doesn't seem like something people do, in any event.
So, in sum, I have no idea.
And thus I'm hoping some of you out there do!!
Thanks! 👍
