Ok I got an important question...so do the schools HAVE to make their decision on dec 3rd on acceptances/rejection of pre-dec interviews? Or can they contact you later and leave you hanging in agony for weeks if not months?

They CAN leave you hanging on the 3rd. But, that is actually good if you think about it... because if you don't get an acceptance from XYZ school on the 3rd at least it means you still have a shot.

not so much... since they already have interviewed you. and thus have nothing left to use to make their decision. therefore, if you have already interviewed pre-dec. You should want a decision made by dec 3rd. Whether it be good or bad, so that you can move on and wait for other schools or plan for next cycle.

Most schools will notify you on the 3rd, but it is the earliest date for such notices (rules). In theory, a school could wait until December 4 or later if they so chose.
