So today we had to do a cvc on #30 and a provisional in 2.75 hrs. sounds like a a lot of time, but in reality if you get too hung up on the damn cvc then you are left with not alot of time to do a provisional... normally a prep would take me around 1 hr to do on a dentform and it comes pretty decent, but today i was little extra nervous i guess cause it weighs 20% of our final grade... and it took me 2 freaking hours! leaving with only 45mins to do a freaking temp. which is still plenty of time, but guess what i had to do the dag on this 5 times b4 it would come out decent.. then i did the salt and pepper and i took it out to check if it looks decent, and with only 2mins left in the practical i see a hole in the side of the provisional.. a good .2mm hole! get the salt and pepper out.. add it on get the hot water ... come on finish it... and the professor comes in.. times up! oh great

When does this end??@$#@$# @#$()&*%$

interesting how i broke 1k mark on this post.. oh well 2nd year sucks

Yeah, definitely don't underestimate the time it takes to make that temp. It sucks they make you guys use trim, mixing that monomer takes forever. We always had the choice of trim or a bis-acrylic. I don't know anyone who didn't use the bis-acrylic, even though it cost like 30 times the price. Great thing was that you could just fill up any holes or open margins with flowable, which is what we do in clinic anyway.
