Ms. Cole is the very definition of the "ultimate pre-med"- although I didn't see a mention of research on there (I'm sure she's done plenty- this article just focused on her humanitarian efforts)
What do you think? Are people like Ms. Cole truly doing it because they have an innate desire to change the world? Or is it merely a means to an end (i.e getting into medical school?) I would say its the former- by reading the short blurb and seeing her ambitions of going back to Africa to practice it seems that is pretty clear.
And Mr. Zavala? Wow. That is truly impressive. Walking onto the football team as a freshman, double majoring in engineering and biology, and doing all the typical pre-medical activities while maintaining a 3.92. I know we all have the same amount of time available to us in a day, but seeing these people truly makes me wonder how they manage to do it.
Man, and here I thought that Harvard Med was viable for me. This is a whole other level!
