The highest score is a 280 Step 1?

Hey Guys..I keep asking people and everyone keeps telling me that they never heard of a score higher than 280. Is that true? Does anyone know anyone personally that got higher, and has not just heard a rumor of a friend that got it? What is the highest then?

a friend of mine got a 375.. He only read robbins 7 times, Harrisons internal medicine 5 times goljan 6 times, did uworld, kaplan and usmlerx 10 times, DIT 12 times. He's been studying since intro to bio since highschool. good luck!

i think mid 280's is the highest you can get.

but the highest possible changes from exam to exam...

the exam is 322 mc questions so it is of course possible to get 100% right. But the scaled score that 100% corresponds to changes. I think that 100% used to correspond to 300 but then as the score distribution changed and the max possible step 1 score changed. It might have had something to do with the SD changing. There is a more extensive post about this somewhere in the annals of SDN, lolz.

At a medical school interview I went I remember someone saying that someone at their school got a 283 on step 1. Pretty amazing.

The only other 275+ I'm aware of is ipizzy who scored >275 on step 1 only to follow it up with >285 on step 2.

I also read the 2012 thread. It is like if you scored less than 250 , then it means you are a jackass. Lol everyone is in 250 sor 260s range. Getting below 250 is an insult.

I don't think that how high you get at the UWorld has anything to do with the real deal score..
Some people had UWorld of 70s and scored 260+
i know somone with 90% cumulative on first pass scored 256
Moreover it depends on whether UWorld is the first bank you are working through or you have done another question bank before jumping into UWorld.
