Okay, I'm sure we've had lots of gift threads on here but... what is everyone getting their techs for the holiday this year?

And any technicians, please feel free to chime in with what you like getting for Christmas from your pharmacists! 🙂

I am a P4 and don't work right now....but good gifts to give have always been stuff from bath and body works, Victoria Secret, Starbucks giftcard or Godiva chocolate. Can't go wrong with these gifts.

You could take them out to a holiday dinner, that's what our PIC does.

Eh, just a $2.99 hallmark Christmas card to each wishing a "Merry Christmas" and "Happy Holidays". Just kidding. I am not currently working, but mustang sally, must you give your technicians Christmas gifts? That can be quite expensive. What if you don't generally exchange gifts? I've heard some people say you should be honest with people in your life, including friends and co-workers, and explain that you will not be exchanging gifts this year. Especially if you are on a budget. I refuse to use credit cards unless I have an emergency. So, how does this work? It would be good for me to know once I start working.

Orrrr I think we also do/did secret Santa among the techs/pharmacists with a price limit set so you only get a gift for 1 person but everyone gets something unless they opt of of doing it.

$25 gas card

Gas Card is a great idea!

As a former tech who used to travel over 30 minutes to work, I got a gas card from my supervisor. The Christmas card read "Now, you have no excuse not to show up to work, HaHa" LOL

We are already doing a secret santa exchange in the department. It is my first year working in this hospital and I'm not sure what the expectations are in relation to gift giving. However, I have a great group of techs that bust their *****es for me...plus I know what they make and it's not much in the scheme of hospital pharmacy technicians. It isn't going to break my budget to give each of them a small gift to show my appreciation.

I was also told we each chip in to buy the director some big gift. I thought that was sort of odd since he makes more than any of us...shouldn't he be the one taking us out to dinner or whatever??? But I'm still going to pitch in since it seems to be the expectation and he's a good boss.
