So...I'm sure alot of you have heard this term thrown around in relation to the practice of medicine as well as the learning of the practice. Apparently in Australia, this is how medicine is practiced as I learned by visitin there once.
My understanding is that the holistic approach merely means treating the whole person as well as treating the specific ailment, disease, injury, etc. This approach to treating someone seems obvious to me when it comes to medicine, and I am kind of surprised to find there is some contrasting approach, necessitating a term for this one. So, What is your guys' idea of holistic medicine? What is the opposite, or contrasting approach to medicine? And, the final question: What schools would you consider teach from this perspective?
