I'm going nuts. I wish admissions people would just hurry it up and reject or offer an interview. Anyone else out there who hasn't heard anything yet?

Just a handful of "your file is now complete. Try not to bite off all your fingernails while we take out sweet ass time making a decision about your future" emails.

The majority of people haven't gotten interviews yet. I say relax and enjoy yourself before school starts.

Lots of schools don't even start interviewing for over a month. And you don't have to be in the first round--or the second, third or fifteenth--to get in. No use in worrying over something you no longer have any control of.

Now me on the other hand, I need to finish this pile of secondaries.

i was worried for 2.5 seconds. then i came back to earth and i realized that im a normal applicant, not an sdn super human

There are plenty of people who won't even interview until winter, so you really need to relax.

I worried for a little while, but I should have known I would not hear from any of my schools for the first round of interviews. So I'm taking everything on SDN with a grain of salt now and acknowledging the fact that I don't have a 3.9 and a 36.

Just be happy that you applied early-- and just because your application may have been overlooked among other stellar SDN applicants doesn't mean someone won't see something special about you down the line.

My boyfriend is a first year at my top choice, and talking to his classmates, almost everyone I've met so far got in off of the waitlist anyway. So, I'll attempt to relax for another couple weeks and be happy for my SDN friends who are kicking ass and taking interviews already.

ummmm - I think the interviews I went to (for the schools I was accepted to last year) were in January and February. If your worried this early, this years gonna really stink for you. Afterall, if you were to interview next month, you could have to wait up to 10 months to have a definite yes or no in your hands. I'm guessing there are many who are just now giving up on their waiting lists and accepting the fact that they will have to complete another application year before getting in.
Although I do understand impatience (I'm incredibly impatient) your gonna have to just assume you won't know anything for a while or else this year is going to be very long.

Yeh, its hard for me to keep reminding myself of the SDN Superhuman Syndrome. That is, being on here so much makes one think that all applicants are like the average SDN'er. My LOR's are holding me back, but I am confident that with everything being in by the end of August, I will still be ahead of the general app pool (at least thats what I tell myself anyway).

it's f*cking august. chill out.

Keep in mind that some schools give a deadline depending upon when you receive the secondary app. For instance, MCV gives you only 30 days or else they automatically reject you for failure to complete the file (even all supporting materials). So sometimes the pressure really is on, even in August.

Hi everybody. Posting this here b/c I'm a new member waiting to be activated. Has anyone experienced delays with their Pre-med office sending out letters? I've e-mailed, called, and am still waiting for my committee letter to be completed. My AMCAS was verified 1st wk of June, and I've been sending back secondaries w/in 2 wks of receiving them...but all my applications are incomplete without the letters! Any suggestions/empathy would be most helpful 😕

Many of us have the same problem. I am waiting for two more LOR's (including a committee letter) and for 2 that have already been sent out to be posted. Fortunately, I have had good communications with everyone, so I think patience is the key. Definitely follow up, but have patience.

Anyone get the email from NJMS titled "News from NJMS!" Even though I know they don't even being interviewing out-of-staters until winter, I couldn't help but hope it was something. Then it turns out to be a news story on how thier students are doing community service projects. Lame!

I was feeling really nervous last week because I had gotten 2 rejections already and 0 invites. This week I am back to feeling zen. Que sera, sera. What will be will be. :luck: all my fellow neurotics!

 I just posted a thread about this very email. I got it too. Thought it was an interview invite at first. 👎

I had to stay on top of my committee letter and push them (in a nice way) to get it done by reminding them of all the schools that were waiting on my letter.

Check this out! MCG gives you only 2 weeks to return the secondary.

At least with Feinberg it's a longer date for the deadline. The good thing is I think they start reviewing your file if the letter isn't there yet...my friend last year got an interview as soon as her letter arrived.

I got that too! I was sooo mad! Way to get all our hopes up right?

I have interviewed in Texas and got them within a few days of each other and then it stopped, only at some schools though. i have friends who submited and were processed a few weeks after me, for them mid july and haven't heard anything. Does anyone else know people like that or cases for texas residents who aren't getting interviews. i think these people are strong applicants and they are starting to get stressed out so if anyone else knows if Texas schools are just starting to slow down with interviews or what not post it. Or were the first round of interviews just about numbers and now they are starting to review things more?
