At this time last year, I was freaking out about how to approach interviews. After all, I had worked extremely hard to get a good GPA, ace the DAT, and complete AADSAS, so it would be foolish to overlook the last barrier to dental school, right?!
As someone who had never formally interviewed before, I thought I was going to do terribly. I was freaking out so much that I would try and recite answers to common questions and come up with terrible answers which I knew were not going to cut it.
Then I came across this, "Kevin Ahern's Guide to Acing A Medical School Interview." It's a 2-part lecture from a professor who is extremely knowledgeable with the interview process, and I suggest it to anyone looking to do well on an interview. He provides many tips on behavior as well as approaches to answer questions. I know it says "Medical Interview" but it can be used for dental interviews as well since the foundation is similar.
If you, like me, are concerned about interviews, then I highly suggest watching this carefully and applying it to an interview. I used many approaches from these videos and finished the application cycle with 5/5 interviews/acceptances (2 post-December). Best of luck everyone!
