The Location of "Please check back dec 1" on AADSAS Portal

I just realized that the schools that I had an interview at AND "Please check back dec 1" are located at the bottom of my AADSAS portal.

The schools that I received rejections AND "Please check back on dec 1" are located in the middle of my AADSAS portal.

I mention this because every time it was a positive decision (i.e. invited for interview), the decision went towards the bottom of my portal. How are these displaying on yours?

Just maybe....

"please check back on dec 1" towards bottom = acceptance
"please check back on dec 1" in middle = rejection

just an idea..
 
eh I had a "check back on december 1st" status (accompanied by a rejection letter) and it showed up at the very bottom of my aadsas page..

I have "Check back" from USCF at the bottom, but I got a rejection from the school while ago.
 
Yes, I've noticed that too!! Here's how mine looks in this order:

Schools not interviewed - "Received/Under Review" [no status change]
Schools not interviewed - Please check back on December 1 [status changed 11/30]
Schools Interviewed - Invited for Interview [no status change]
Schools Interviewed - Please check back on December 1 [status changed 11/30]

So maybe it's like how you said it:

Schools not interviewed - additional review [since no status changed]
Schools not interviewed - Rejection
Schools Interviewed - additional review [since no status changed]
Schools Interviewed - Acceptance

Yes, that is exactly how mine looks!
 
All of my rejections are at the bottom of the list.
 
the schools i interviewed at that changed my status are at the BOTTOM.

Your theory works for me. lol

Maybe they have sort everyone differently, like in my case and FLOSS UR TEETH, they have our Rejections to Acceptances from up to down, and they have others, like yourself, Rejections to Acceptances from down to up. See, I think what may have happened is that they hit the "sort bottom" (assuming there's a sort button) in their system differently for each one.

Yes, that's the most logical reason I can come up with. Thus, I've saved this case for further speculation 😀

lol, well... only one school that I interviewed at updated AADSAS today.

So...it looks like

(all schools that I haven't heard from and didn't interview)

(check back on dec. 1)
(rejection with no interview)

the schools i interviewed at said they read sdn for fun and i bet they're all laughing at us right now

I dont think its different. I think it works like this top to bottom (based on mine):

1. Still Under Review (no interview)
2. Check Back December (no interview)= rejection
3. Invited for Interview (haven't gone to interview yet)
4. Check Back December (w/interview)= acceptance?
 
The theory must have ALL components (i.e you must have an under/review, a rejection, a interview, and a school that you already interviewed at on AADSAS). Here it is–

Schools not interviewed - "Received/Under Review"
Schools not interviewed - Please check back on December 1
Schools Interviewed - Invited for Interview
Schools Interviewed - Please check back on December 1

Might translate into:

Schools not interviewed - additional review [since no status changed]
Schools not interviewed - Rejection
Schools Interviewed - additional review [since no status changed]
Schools Interviewed - Acceptance

Well that's how it kinda looks like. Most of us are getting it this way. Oh boy, I so hope it's true. Well, the way I look at it is if you have at least one of the "four" status thingamajig, then you should hit at least one interview!! :idea: Which means I have an acceptance!!! Yeay!!!! 😀 Man, I'm going nuts thinking over this :meanie:

OMG since when have we had this roflcopter :roflcopter: I've just discovered it! I'll be here all night folks 😀
 
hahaha wow you guys might be right. It's funny how we are now using the location of the phrase "check back on dec 1st" to deduce acceptances and rejections :laugh:

idk, has this happened before? I would guess it would be at the same place the other rejection would be and would read "please check back dec 1"
 
yeah it has. there are people who got interviewed in October, but have already received rejection letters.

Im pretty sure Ive read of people on here who experienced that?

Maybe it showed up at the very bottom because:

1.) you dont have any other schools that you interviewed at that have changed you status to :check back:"

2.)You dont have any upcoming interviews


??

I don't think any schools have officially rejected people right after their interview. At least I haven't heard of any. From the schools that I've interviewed, they said they would notify us on the 1st of Dec for acceptances/waitlists/rejects

Your theory holds true looking at my page!!!
"Check back on dec 1" meant for rejection is showing before the acceptances.
And the "check back on dec1" for acceptances are listed on alphabetical order.

i don't think she has all the components so hers cant be used for the theory

Thank you for sharing Nguyen. The theory holds true.

Stay strong and hopeful. We will all make it. This my 3rd time applying, and counting all 3 years, Ive already spent around $12000 on this whole process. Lets all hang in there.

Yours is different. It's not holding up to this theory.

You know what else I've noticed is that the Decision Dates are blank for "Please check back Dec 1" status changes. Is that the same with everyone? Maybe if it's blank then it might mean either a rejection or acceptance.

This fits my situation
 
I'm not sure how correct this theory is because for Nova, I have a check back on aadsas however I DO NOT have an acceptance fee deposit on my Nova webstar (people were talking about this several days ago) and so I'm assuming I've been waitlisted. Thus, check back on the bottom could be EITHER waitlist or acceptance.

according to last year's official interview/acceptance thread, people were notified of being waitlisted by Nova on aadsas. I'm not sure if other schools did this but I just feel that everyone's throwing out the "waitlist" option.

However, the check back that appears for schools that I have received rejection letters for are located in the middle so I guess that part of the theory holds up..

Yeah, Nova has seemed to be an outlier for everyones "theories." However, it could also be a glitch in Nova's portal system (the acceptance fee thing) so don't give up hope there is still a chance that you may also be accepted!
 
So on my aadsas it reads

uop=======received under review
bu========received under review
mqt=======received under review
uL========received under review
rosman====invited for interview (Dec 13th)
ou========check back.

yesterday my ou status was updated and the school switched to the bottom of my aadsas portal. I had pre december interview with western U, but has yet to show up on my portal. What do you guys make of this???

***Since OU moved to bottom of my screen makes me think It might fit! I hope!!!!
 
OMG I just found another thing!

Check this out, each segment (The under review segment, the rejection segment, the interview segment, and the acceptance segment) is in alphabetical order by state within its own segment ahaha... I think this theory is definitely true!!!!!!

not for my under review section! It goes from H to B then to T then to a C school.

But!!! "check back on dec 1st" for acceptances are definitely listed in alphabetical order.

Yes my bad it is the rejection, interview, and acceptance segments that are listed in alphabetical order by state. Which makes sense since under review isn't really a "decision" per say.

kind of feel depressed already since I didnt get any "check back" message except from UCSF which I have gotten my rejection a while ago. 🙁
 
you know check back can also mean rejected right

so not having it is more "neutral" than anything

The check back update is fair game for speculation...but this whole position thing is getting pretty silly. I'm just as excited as most of you but I think this might be overdoing it. Good luck everyone.
 
Does anyone that has interviewed at Midwestern AZ see that school on their AADSAS decision list??
 
I've only had two interviews so far, and one was at NYU who doesn't bother using AADSAS. For what it's worth, my U of Minnesota status changed to check back a couple days ago (I interviewed early this month) and its at the bottom, below my Case interview (which has yet to happen) and all the Received/Under Review schools.

However, if memory serves me correctly, U of Minn was always on the bottom, even when it was "Invited for Interview," but, if the theory holds true, that's just because it's alphabetically listed after Case.

So, hopefully, I'm getting accepted at Minnesota in a few hours. Fingers crossed!
