Hey guys! Congrats to all with acceptances!

I have my FIRST ever interview in a week and I tried searching this but came up with nothing......

I have a 3.06 overall and 2.9 science gpa, and 27(9,9,9) MCAT. What do I say if they ask me about my gpa???

No real upward trend (maybe the very last quarter) but I have received almost all B's in my science classes!

I don't know what to say, Please help!!

Be honest?

Always works for me.

Id like to know too.. I have no excuse. I didn't study hard. 🙁 that was my problem. I didn't really care, you know.

To be 100% honest, your gpa is not that bad. The fact that you have been given an interview shows that adcoms see other qualities in you that they believe will make an excellent contribution to their medical schools. If it comes up, be honest. Don't be defensive, but explain yourself (without looking like you are trying to get some pity going on), and nail the rest of the interview. Good luck!! Make sure to let us know how it goes!!

just dont ever tell any adcom that.....ever. or at least explain why other things in your life were more important at that tiime.

It's best to take responsibility. Say something like "regrettably, I should have spent more time focused on what really mattered to me. Instead, I focused on my extra-curriculars and ....etc etc etc" ALWAYS a positive spin. Remember, you are a salesman selling yourself, but unlike a salesman you shouldn't lie under... just put a nice bow on a ****ty package if need-be 😉

Good luck!

The best thing to do is be honest. Give reasons, but not excuses. Is there a reason why your gpa isn't higher? Did you work? Play a sport? .......
