The Man has fallen

[JustFillIt]

Well guys/gals it happened... job elimination and pharmacy closure. The Man has fallen (if you don’t know what I mean about “the man” you missed my epic post a few weeks ago).

Alright well - time to go crush the competition! Wish me luck

This is a reminder that no matter where you work or how good you are that no one is safe from saturation.

This is true - I gotta say I’m pretty darn good and almost 20 years of smashing the Rx...

Yea..... I got saturated..

I’m still feeling good though, I will find my way out

Why would they lay you off? No other stores you can go to?

[PharmDBro2017]

Damn sorry to hear that OP. Hope you find a replacement gig soon.

Man that blows dude... Any thoughts on where you’ll move on to?

[pencilandpen]

If you been doing pharmacy for 20 years I really hope you have some savings and best egg built up.

[MrBonita]

Thanks for the thread. I will continue to cash out my vacation hours and not take vacations to save in case hell comes.

Well - I think I might try my hand at starting my own gig? Not sure

Good Luck Finding a new Position, buddy! You're still The Man! 🙂

Keep being The Man as you send out your resume and attend interviews.

That’s the plan son..

Which of the following best describe(s) your situation?
I. My life is over.
II. My career is over.
III. My job is over.

A. I only
B. III only
C. I and II only
D. II and III only
E. All of the above

The correct answer is B. Take some time to mourn the loss, identify your strengths and goals, and plan a new future. Hashtag five stages of grief. Hashtag you're not alone. Hashtag what it looks like when an autistic person tries to comfort you.

Almost exact same boat. Been 10 months and there isn't much. Huge gap between paid 50+/hr to finding anything above 20. Cold hard facts. Nobody knows what a pharmacist does and whatever skills you have do not transfer. I am thinking about jobs that pay 10 to 15....crazy right? Last year I got an above average review and I was slinging prescriptions and multi tasking like a mother *. Now?...is what it is...never liked the job anyway. Good luck.

It's hard in any metro and most suburban locations.

Definitely the way to go. Harder, but if you do enough research and fill a need, it's the right way. Keep in touch if you have any interesting ideas.

It could be any of us any time (for the experienced ones making that fat cash they used to pay and PTO they used to give). I'm sorry your number was up this time. I've lost a job once and it stings, but get back on that horse and find some cushy Staff/Float thing until you can retire. How close are you to retirement? and yes, BEST of luck...
