Figured I'd start this one out. I'll be registering for the MCAT first thing tomorrow. Who else is taking it on this date? How do you all plan on studying over the school year?

yeah I had dreams about the ebola passage BEFORE I even took the test. When I got there, I'd forgotten about it because of verbal and it blindsided me. It was like hitting a class V rapids- "oh **** here it is! don't fall in!" just before the boat capsized.

I left work early because I felt kind of ill. Not sure what it is- I'm not running a fever so maybe it was just the chipotle I had for lunch? Drinking the OJ now, going to practice bio and periodic motion.

Trying not to get scared about this ebola passage! definitely taking AAMC 11 tomorrow hopefully it won't damage my ego too much.

Hope you don't get sick! that would suck a couple days before the test!

Took AAMC 10 today and got a 31, meh. 10P 11V 10B.

Made a bunch of last minute changes to BS. I guess I'll see how that worked out tomorrow. I think this is the only PS that was "computation heavy" that I've seen, which I apparently don't do well with.

What did you get on your other CBTs ? Was it just a bad test?

Well anyways if you are scoring below a 25 that means you really need to focus on content. I would spend a good 2 weeks going through and doing an intensive review of most of the topics you are not comfortable with (make notes, flash cards etc). And then see where youre at. Also do a ton of passages.
But youll need to spend more than 4 hours a day to get through all that material.
If you dont have free time then maybe you can push your test back, but you can decide that later because you still have some time to reschedule.
Hey Thanks. My other CBTs are the same (12 Composite) I just don't know what the problem is but thanks a lot i'll try your advice.

If it's a content issue I would recommend checking out some videos on YouTube. Just search freelanceteach. He as full courses on chem, ochem, bio, and physics. It really help me before I sat for my exam.

For the record, if you aren't getting mid-20's by the time test day comes around, void it (move it now if possible). Getting <20 is not good.

Agreed.

Moments away from taking AAMC 11. Allowed myself to slack off a bit and wake up at 7:40 instead of 6:40 sigh.
Need some 😴😴 so bad.

reporting back later.

getting pumped!!!! last practice test EVER.

Looks like I'm on the track to get a 34?

Kind of wish I'd do a bit better though. I felt decent throughout the test, most likely this is how I will perform. No excuses of sleepiness or anything this time.

This is my all time low accuracy rate though. Not sure if because passages are harder or I'm rusty from taking a bunch of days off.

I almost ran out of time during PS, had 6 minutes leftover for VR (this score is satisfactory), and like 10 minutes for BS and I took my time with the ebola passage. Overall I felt it was ok and the curve is decent.

I hope to do better on the actual test though.

Thank you so much Jr MD! I appreciate it so much 🙂

No problem! You guys will all do great...although I'm not taking it this Saturday (taking it April 27) i wouldn't be where i am without you guys...ill throw up a prayer and hope that you all get the passages that match your strengths

Btw..took a chemistry assessment and got an 80 %...so now what lol and is that a good score??

The Physics assessment was really good because it had a lot of "practical application" passages that may seem left field if you haven't had prior exposure before. The chemistry assessment is a good tool to identify content weaknesses in. 80%+ in both assessments is pretty good. I got a 84% in gen chem and 83% in physics last summer before my first mcat and ended up with a 12 on PS.

I believe a SDNer in the 9/1/12 thread (my first mcat) had similar aamc scores and wound up with a 38. 🙂 Good luck!

Just took AAMC #10 - 12-9-12

Now it is time to relax and get rejuvenated for Saturday morning,

Good luck guys! We're almost at the finish line!

think i might take tbr's experimental bio diagnostic tonight to keep things fresh. at this point I'm pretty much done with everything but i suppose it might keep my mind sharp after being test-less for a few days. what do you all think?

80% i is definitely really good, around 85% accuracy gets you a 12 on both of the science sections!

Just finished AAMC 11. That was a tough one but a pretty generous curve.. Final scores on all AAMC materials:

AAMC 3 (3/3/13): 12/11/13 = 36
AAMC 4 (3/8/13): 15/12/14 = 41
AAMC 5 (3/10/13): 14/11/15 = 40
AAMC 7: (3/13/13): 15/11/15 = 41
AAMC 8: (3/15/13): 14/11/15 = 40
AAMC 9: (3/17/13): 15/12/15 = 42
AAMC 10: (3/19/13): 14/12/14 = 40
AAMC 11: (3/21/13): 14/12/14 = 40

Biology Self-Assessment = 90%
Organic Chemistry Self-Assessment = 99%
Chemistry Self-Assessment = 92%
Physics Self-Assessment = 88%

I'm hoping I can score one more 40 on Saturday. Plans for the next two days are light review and relaxation. Good luck everybody!

Sounds like a good idea to me. Today will be my last day to study (taking tomorrow off to relax with the gf, she finishes her winter quarter finals today)

You're right where you need to be. Top notch prep! Good luck on Saturday :luck:

You too. Let's see that 45! 😀

My AAMC scores have been as follows:

AAMC 4 - 38 - February 5
AAMC 5 - 38
AAMC 6R - 41
AAMC 7 - 41
AAMC 8 - 39

AAMC 11 - 42 - March 16

AAMC mean: 40.6
AAMC median: 41
AAMC mode: dunno how to calculate that sh~!

So my scores obviously indicate that a 45 is inevitable on Saturday 😀 :naughty:

that's insane you guys. i kind of wish i stopped at exam 11 from a confidence standpoint- that 34 on aamc 5 was a killer- but it's a learning experience! not sure i can make a 40 but I'll sure as hell try!

Ugh I'm spending the day reviewing all the mistakes I've ever made and cramming all the stuff I have trouble remembering. There's a lot of material man 😱

Good luck to all of you Saturday. I expect to see a lot of 40+ scores in about 38 days because I will definitely be visiting this thread. I'm scheduled for 4/26 and not changing it again. Slacked off last few days and feeling the information just diffusing out/feeling guilty. Regardless, good luck this Saturday. You all have the ability and knowledge, now it's just a matter of applying it.

👍 Best of luck to you Entadus, though you don't really need it. It was an honor talking to all of you guys. You guys have kept me company throughout this intense study period.

You don't have a mode, haha.

Internet at the apartment has been out for a few days, so I haven't been posting (password is saved into browser, I don't know it, haha), and was too lazy to get it and log in via phone.

I'm not sure how I feel about this test. On one hand I feel like I'm going to slap the hell out of it and walk off like a boss. The other hand I'm thinking I will get a 31 because that number is my mean, median, AND mode. Too many variables though. Also, I seem to crap the bed in verbal whenever my other scores are high. If I add up my highest scores one each section, I have a 37 :naughty:.

I know I shouldn't even be thinking about scores, but I don't think it's possible not too. Too much down time. Overall I'd say I'm pretty confident though.

Best of luck everyone. I'm going to get back to work so I can finish up reviewing my previous mistakes on past FL's so that I don't have to do anything tomorrow.

I know everyone says don't touch an MCAT book the day before, but I may do a quick verbal section in the morning and not even check the scores...just do it for practice.

bloody MURDERED that TBR molecular cell bio diagnostic. 49/52 is a 14 I'd estimate, on par with my AAMC bio scores.

I think that might be it for my studying. Maybe do what carboxylase suggested and try some verbal for fun tomorrow morning just to keep it fresh. I haven't touched verbal since Sunday... :-/

Soooooo I'm debating on whether I should buy the aamc assessment package....: \ did any body do it and if so did it help? And did you take it before or after you took practice tests?

Sent from my Nexus 7 using SDN Mobile

I actually bought the thing and forgot I had it until I logged in a few days ago to do practice tests 😡

Don't do what I did!

Nice work! 🙂

I've been doing a ton of genchem and ochem tutoring today, also. I hope its not only a good distraction, but also good practice for MCAT.

Hey guys,

I posted a few times here and I'd like to announce that I will be voiding the test. It was nice getting to interact with you guys. Best of luck!
-saved aamc 9, 10, gs tests, aamc sa for phys orgo bio, tprh science wrkbk and a few passages from ek101 & tprh verbal. next projected mcat test date: postponed indefinitely. 😕

If you have or can get your hands on an EK Bio book, I liked their genetics section best. Just my $0.02.

Now, how on Earth am I going to remember all of these physics equations?! 😕

I couldn't sleep til 4 am last night! And I set 2 alarms at 7 but I still slept in til 8 🙁 tomorrow morning I need to wake up around 6:30...

Drove to the test center this morning (30 minutes away) just to get familiar. Meh

I'm at the mall with my gf now. She wouldn't let me come with her inside this store cause she knew I'd be bored and wouldn't like it... Sooo I'm sitting outside on a comfy chair

Can't wait until this is all over (25 more hours!!)

I'm even worse. Took sleeping pills last night and STAYED AWAKE ALL NIGHT. i didn't even think that was possible lol.

Going to do 6 passages now, 2 of each section, and call it done.
Might listen to some bio recording for the rest of the day and definitely need to review physics formulas before bed.

Good luck everyone.

Nooo keep you're head up sworzeh...there are a plethora of people who scored well over their average. You can too. Thinking like that going into the test can only hurt your score. You've worked hard. Think of the AAMC practice tests as battles in the war against the MCAT. to me you've won them all. Final battle its tomorrow. Leave it all on the battlefield. Stay up!! 👍👍👍👍

Lol a rabbit? That's so cute.
But sorry about the interruption.

I feel how you are feeling right now but we can't get discouraged! I just took 6 passages, 2 from each section, and got everything right. The almost pit-falls were ones where I was too nervous and didn't think carefully enough. I think right now confidence is key!

"too much knowledge, too little gained"

😍

Keep your head up everyone. No need to get nervous. You have made it this far, and that's the hardest part. Now it's time to leave the emotions at home, keep calm during the test, and execute.

Also, I talked to a source close to the situation, and word is there will be a few extra points tacked on to those who participated in the 3/23/13 thread. So there's that...

Aww, thanks guys. You really did make me feel better about this. 😳

I'll try to stay positive about tomorrow. I think I'm comparing myself too much to others and I'm not focused on personal achievement. We will hopefully all do wonderfully tomorrow! May the MCAT strengths be with you all. 😍
