Figured I'd start this one out. I'll be registering for the MCAT first thing tomorrow. Who else is taking it on this date? How do you all plan on studying over the school year?

74% on psych/socio trial 'top quarter' of those who took it. I thought pretty lost on that so maybe there's hope for me. Problem is that one of the schools I'm applying to only considers the VR score and I left at least one question blank which leaves me almost no wiggle room for careless mistakes if I want to get the 11 I think I need.

I'm severely edgy waiting for Tuesday. Please, please, please release results on the 23rd. I'm going crazy here 🙁 !

What school is this?

And don't worry. They'll be released on the 23rd...(4 days from now)

Some crazy stuff is going on lately. Stay safe everyone.

Thanks! I was in Boston this past Monday, and previously lived very close to where the MIT shoot off occurred. Now just staying on lockdown until further notice. This really does help put this test/life into perspective.... Even if we don't end up doing as well as we had hoped, we still have so much more to be thankful for, and in the grand scheme of life, this is just a test that we can easily retake.

I completely agree. I'm just so lucky my friends and I are okay after the marathon - the mcat doesn't seem important at all compared to this. Praying for all the victims still in the hospital and so thankful for the officers out there right now risking their lives. I'm currently in lockdown in Boston right now. So surreal. You know what's crazy that crossed my mind? The suspect they're chasing is premed... What if he was on sdn?

:cringes: at last statement

For the record guys, there are always experimental questions on the test. The added experimental section is testing questions for topics that haven't been tested before, but the typical stuff (that we're actually tested on now) will still be in the 2015 MCAT, so they still need more questions as constantly as they always have.

I was under the impression that it's always a possibility but never a certainty. Where did you hear/see that there are experimental questions on every mcat? Or did I just misinterpret what you're saying?

I can find the excerpt for you later but I'm pretty sure it says so outright in the Official Guide to the MCAT or in Essentials.

Where did you find that it said he was pre-med? According to his father, he was a second year medical student (somehow), but perhaps parents never know what's going on.

"His father told The Associated Press that his 19-year-old son was studying medicine. The rural UMass-Dartmouth campus, about an hour's drive south of Boston on the state's South Coast, has a medical school and pre-med program."

Since he was 19 i'm pretty sure he would be pre-med not medical. but who knows. i just want this to be over!! its terrifying he could be anywhere.

Got it:

The Official Guide to the MCAT Exam said:
Please note that each multiple-choice section (PS, VR, and BS) will include some try-out items that do not count toward your score.

The wait has gotten brutal in the past couple of days. I had virtually forgotten this stupid test over the past 3+ weeks, and then I realized that I was less than a week away from knowing my score. Now I can't think of anything else.

Hang tight folks, nothing we can do about it. Just focus on doing whatever you usually do on the weekends and enjoy it. It's Monday that'll suck!

I want to warn everyone right now...

On Tuesday, the site may be inaccessible. I will be checking so frequently that there is a good chance that I will take the site down. Plan accordingly.

We're probably better off just checking this site to know when scores are available rather than the official site 🙂

Two days everyone.

I'm going to kill about 10 hours today watching NBA playoffs so today won't be bad. Tomorrow will be torture though.

Hey guys! I've been following this thread fora couple of months and finally decided to join sdn. I'd like to thank you guys for the motivation and support throughout the March 23 MCAT prep (especially the support AFTER the exam). This waiting is killing me too. I'm signed up for the May 11th exam but I'm dreading taking it again (fingers crossed)!

Well I had a birthday a few days ago... Everything is going swell,

Sure am thinking about Tuesday a lot :xf:

I hope everyone is well

At this point I'm praying for a 25 to hopefully get into a DO program and never open another MCAT book again! But, with my luck.. I can take it 10 more times and get a 24 over and over again.

Good luck to all of you Tuesday, I'll be rooting for you but especially to those who I had the pleasure of studying with when I was slated for this date.
Also, natg, are you sure the DO range starts that low or the median is that low?

Well, the school I plan I attending (Touro NV) expects at least a 25 to be considered. But while I was in their MHS program, I learned that a 27+ means a better chance to not be wait listed

In that case, I'll be rooting for you to get a high mcat score 🙂.

That also goes for everyone else, it was an honor posting in this thread

I'm killing time by working! I worked 11pm-7am yesterday night, then came back to the hospital 8 hours later to work a 3pm-11pm shift 😀

I can't wait to find out...

That's my plan; that way, I can make sure I am not in a place where people can hear the expletives after I log in...just in case it's really bad!! 😀

I can't stop thinking about Tuesday....it's so hard to study with it on my mind! 🙁 oh pleassssssssseeeeee let there be a gigantic curve for that PS section!!!!!

have you been restuding for may 11? i planned..but CANNOT force myself!!

also my plan is to buy my favorite food for when I check my score: either eat it all out of grief..or out of happiness =p

Ya, I talked myself into thinking I didn't do well and that if I didn't take time off I would be able to keep studying for it. It worked really well....until yesterday. And, with Tuesday creeping up on us, I can't seem to focus anymore.

Btw... That sounds like a legit plan. But you would need to add a bucket of ice cream, a jar of Nutella and some donuts to be on the same page as me. 🙂

What are some plans for retaking? Less content review and just do problems after problems?

That's what I've been doing. I used Kaplan for the last exam. I'm using Princeton Review and just doing their practice questions/passages. I don't know what else to do.

So you're only review content based on what you missed on the problems right? Not general content review like we did for the first exam?

I'm actually doing all of their problems which are organized by topics but I am paying extra attention to gchem since that's what I realized killed my PS section. How's your prep going?

Geez, watching SDN now is not good for me. My cortisol levels were probably through the roof a couple hours ago. I'm just going to leave until Tuesday at 2:00 PM ET. I recommend everyone else who's having PMS exacerbated by the closing days do the same. No point monitoring this forum, our scores won't show up lol. No more checking Thx now...no more browsing past mcat groups to see their expected vs. aamc average vs. actual lol. See yall on Tuesday at around 2. Till then I'll get a head start on studying for finals.
